Warming up Sunday with increasing clouds

Highs near 80°F

DETROIT – Detroit's Memorial Day Weekend continues to get warmer Sunday and on the holiday. Sunday morning sunshine will give way to clouds, and rain is possible on Monday.

Sunday morning will be cool with a beautiful sunrise at 6:05am ET. Temperatures will start in the low and middle 50s. A jacket may be needed for some families as they had to and from services or for anyone getting an early start with a leisurely stroll through the neighborhood.

Jackets will not be needed by midday for lunch time or the Tigers game. As the man wearing the Old English D battle the Astros for when starting at 1:08 PM ET at Comerica Park, temperatures will be in the low and middle 70s. Skies will turn from from mostly sunny to partly sunny during the baseball game. That was nonstop temperatures rising to 80°F has a southwesterly wind blows at 6 to 12 mph Sunday afternoon.

Sunday evening will be warm temperatures in the 70s. Skies will be turned cloudy, but any chance of rain will be minor and closer to midnight.

Sunday night will be cloudy, with the blanket of clouds keeping overnight lows in the 60s and not dropping any lower.

Memorial day Monday will have some sunshine and will not be a washout. Temperatures will soar into the low 80s under partly sunny skies most of the day. The best time for a barbecue or spending time outdoors with the family will be in the morning and middle part of the day. After two and 3 o'clock in the afternoon.

This partly sunny, warm, and slightly wet pattern continues Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday. Lows will be in the 60s and highs near 80°F each day.
