Tuesday afternoon will be much warmer again with highs in the middle 80s. Some upper 80s will be on thermometers south of I-94.

The region remains under the influence of the Great Plains and Midwest storm system wreaking havoc in Oklahoma. Unstable air remains overhead, and Detroiters need to be on guard for heavy downpours, damaging winds, hail and lightning again after 3pm and into Tuesday evening. Any outdoor activities must be moved indoors if storms erupt.

The large low pressure system will continue to crawl and keep stormy, sultry weather in the forecast Tuesday night and Wednesday. Overnight lows will be in the upper 60s. Wednesday's highs will be just over 80 degrees.

Thursday and the rest of the week will cooler and calmer. Leftover showers end Thursday with highs in the 60s. Sunshine returns Friday and Saturday with highs in the 60s to near 70.
