Warm, humid Monday with chance of storms for Metro Detroit
Updated On: Jul 08 2013 03:51:50 PM EDT
The Storm Prediction Center has now placed SE Lower Michigan in a slight risk category for Severe Storm potential this afternoon and evening.
The main risks include strong, damaging winds, hail, and deadly lightning.
There is a line of storms moving through the state west to east and before the storms arrive temps will climb into the middle 80s. This muggy air will only add to the threat for strong storms later on today so make sure you and the kids are aware and have an indoor Plan B ready to go.
We are under a risk for severe storms Tuesday as well.
That round of storms will arrive a little later in the day so temps tomorrow will climb into the upper 80s and the humidity is hanging tough.
Storm threat looks greatest after 4 or 5pm so get your outdoor work and play done early. We will likely see more hit and miss showers and storms Wednesday but a cold front will sweep through and drop temperatures and humidity for the rest of the week. Starting Thursday, you’ll feel a definite difference with more sun, upper 70s to near 80 degrees, and much lower humidity through the weekend.
