DETROIT – TGIF! We're starting our day dry, with calm air and temperatures generally in the mid 20s.
Mostly sunny skies should prevail into the early afternoon, then clouds start to increase. Highs for most of the area should be around 40 degrees, but those of you in the southern half of Lenawee County will be closest to an approaching warm front, and could see temps by late afternoon in the upper 40s. Southeast wind will be developing at around 10 mph.
Rain showers develop this evening after 8 p.m. or 9 p.m., and then mix with some snow. I don't expect any accumulating snow. Lows will be in the low 30s.
Your weekend looks mainly dry, with only a few scattered flurries possible on Saturday. Highs Saturday will be in the upper 30s, then only in the upper 20s on Sunday.
Temperatures remain well below average through next Wednesday, and the next chance for any precipitation is Tuesday, when we could see some light snow.
By the way, my computer models continue to show a potentially strong Nor'easter winter storm affecting New England in the Tuesday/Wednesday time frame. This could be a significant disruption to travel out East. Keep this in mind if you'll be heading that way the middle of next week.
