Showers, thunderstorms Sunday afternoon
A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for Detroit and all of Southeast Michigan Sunday. Also, the National Weather Service has Southeast Michigan in the "Slight Risk" category for strong to severe storms.
Large amounts of moisture will arrive from the south Sunday afternoon and provide more stormy activity. Lightning will become more frequent, and winds will become more gusty potentially causing damage. Highs will be near 75. Indoor activities like watching the Detroit Lions take on the Packers in Green Bay, where it will be drier and cooler with temps near 60, are a good idea.
Sunday evening will remain wet ahead of a cold front. Temps will be near 70 with showers and storms.
Sunday night will become a bit drier after midnight as a cold front passes. Temps will fall into the 50s by Monday morning.
Clouds hang around Monday with a few showers that will be less threatening but may impact Game 3 of baseball's ALDS in the afternoon. The Detroit Tigers play the Oakland A's at Comerica Park with a 1pm first pitch. It will be cooler with temps in the low 60s and brisk conditions. Fans will need their favorite Tigers sweatshirt, jacket and hat.
If there is a Game 4 Tuesday, skies will be brighter for it. Cool conditions remain for a 5pm start with temps only near 60 degree.
Tropical Storm Karen may weaken from Sunday to Tuesday bringing heavy rain along the Gulf Coast from Louisiana to northern Florida.
