Michigan State Police monitor road conditions during winter storm

DETROIT – Michigan State Police say road conditions remain snow-covered across the three counties as the road commissions have managed to keep up so far.

"We are still only seeing spin-out crashes and no injuries have been reported so far today," Lt. Michael Shaw said in a news release about 3 p.m. Sunday. "The worst area for us this afternoon has been the northern end of I-75 north of Baldwin Road in Oakland County."

Troopers say there is more snow in southern Wayne County, and areas south of I-75 and I-696 in Macomb County are the most active with traffic issues.

Snow on the roadways have caused spinout crashes, but there have not been any injuries reported Sunday morning.

Police say drivers should drive slowly and keep their distance from others during the snow storm. MSP also reminds anyone who may be drinking during the Super Bowl to use a designated driver.

You can get updates on road conditions by visiting the official MSP website. Police ask that you don't call local police dispatch centers about road conditions.
