Morning showers, cloudy Thursday ahead

Highs near 80°

DETROIT – Thursday morning showers are wrapping up, but streets are slick and patchy fog will linger in some areas.

Cloudy skies become only partly sunny today with highs in the upper 70s to near 80. The farther north you go, the more sun you will see. Hopefully we'll all see some nice hazy sun but expect some harmless cloud cover in and out around Metro Detroit.

Radar is still very active over Wisconsin and Minnesota but our models indicate that will hold off until tomorrow.

More stormy weather is coming Friday afternoon and may last into the early evening. Temperatures will be in the mid to upper 70s to end the work week as the weather pattern continues to be touch and go. Again, scattered afternoon storms tomorrow and right now, we are not tracking any severe weather.

Saturday looks mostly dry after some early morning shower chances as highs climb into the upper 70s to near 80° again. Scattered rain and thundershowers on Sunday don't look terribly threatening or widespread but could impact some of your outdoor plans.

So, it's not an all weekend washout, but some of your plans could be temporarily delayed. We may even have a few showers hanging on Monday which is the big Fireworks Show downtown Detroit.
