Flooding a concern as steady showers persist Wednesday

Another round of rain on tap for Metro Detroit

DETROIT – Rain showers are lingering around Metro Detroit early Wednesday morning, so the roads are a bit slick.

More rain, potentially heavy rain, will return later this afternoon, so keep the umbrella handy as more steady rain moves in around 2 p.m.

It will be mostly dry and mild in the mid-morning and through the afternoon with highs in the low 60s and winds NW to NE 5-10 mph.

Rains will increase flooding concerns this evening for both area streams and neighborhood basements. Those showers will pick up again and drop heavy rain through the first half of Thursday.

Again, more flooding problems are likely.

Rain should let up through the early afternoon tomorrow and cooler temps will hover around 60 degrees with winds SE/SW 7-17 mph.

Temperatures will drop into the upper 50s Friday and Saturday with spotty showers still hanging around SE Michigan. But the heaviest rains will exit late Thursday leaving lighter rain chances to end the week.

Friday should look mostly dry in the mid to upper 50s.

Afternoon showers are possible on Saturday, keeping temperatures in the mid to upper 50s. Get your 7-Day forecast on clickonDetroit.com and on the Weather links:
