More storms possible tonight in metro Detroit
Updated On: Aug 21 2014 07:46:29 PM EDT
Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible tonight, with lows in the upper 60s. Light and variable wind.
The potential for scattered storms will extend from the overnight hours Thursday night into Friday morning, with most activity ending by midday.
With a bit of luck, most of the afternoon could be dry, although it'll be decidedly steamy, which is why I cannot categorically take a stray thunderstorm out of the afternoon forecast. Highs in the low 80s, with a light east-southeast wind.

Any isolated late afternoon or early evening thunderstorms should diminish within a few hours after sunset. Warm and humid with lows in the mid to upper 60s.
Today's computer models continue to show a strong upper level ridge gradually building in this weekend and lasting at least into Monday, which should squash most thunderstorm activity. It's going to be continued warm and humid Saturday afternoon, so thunderstorm chances aren't zero due to the instability we'll see develop, but chances are many of us won't see a storm. Warm and humid, with highs in the low 80s. If you have outdoor plans, just keep an eye on the radar on the FREE Local4Casters weather app...just search for WDIV in the app store.
