Mild Tuesday with heavy rain on the way

Mostly dry Tuesday, rain Wednesday

DETROIT – It's a quiet start to your Tuesday with mostly cloudy skies and morning lows mainly in the mid to upper 50s.

It will be a bit more cloudy today with heavy rain just to our south.

But, our forecast will be mostly dry today.

High pressure is still holding on top of SE Michigan which will keep dry air in place and the rain elsewhere.

A few showers are possible in the late afternoon or evening as we set the stage for a wet overnight into early Wednesday.

Tuesday high temps will be in the upper 70s with light winds ESE 5-10 mph and mostly cloudy skies most of the day.

Wednesday will be a wet start with heavy downpours from a line of rain and thundershowers overspreading our area from south to north.

The rain may slow you down on the morning drive although the heaviest rain will likely be before many hit the roads.

Then, expect scattered  rain and thunder on and off throughout the day.

Rain cooled air will drop temps from time to time into the 60s.

But, any afternoon dry periods will see high temps climbing back into the mid 70s.

A few scattered showers will linger Thursday before a clearing pattern as we head into the Father's Day Weekend.

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday all look mostly sunny and dry although one computer model holds onto a few showers early Friday before clearing.

Highs will climb back closer to 80° into Dad's weekend. Get your complete 7 Day forecast on clickondetroit.com and on the Weather links:
