DETROIT – Expect mostly clear skies and light wind tonight which, combined with a fresh snowpack, all point toward a good night of radiational cooling.
The larger cities will probably drop to around zero, with rural areas between -2 and -6.
Mostly sunny skies should start our Wednesday, then we'll become partly cloudy during the afternoon. Highs will be in the low 20s.
Thursday looks partly cloudy and even warmer, with highs in the upper 20s to near 30! We could get some light snow Thursday night, but I don't expect much accumulation -- perhaps a fresh coating.
Mostly cloudy on Friday with light morning snow showers…not a bad day (comparatively speaking) to take your sweetie out for Valentine's Day! Highs in the mid to upper 20s.
Partly cloudy and colder on Saturday, with highs in the upper teens. We could get another light snowfall on Saturday night, with any snow likely ending by Sunday morning.
Becoming partly cloudy on Sunday, with highs in the low to mid 20s.
Snow develops later Sunday night and continues into Monday. It's still too early to speculate about specific accumulations, but a few inches are possible the way things look today – and this can change, obviously. In fact, if the approaching storm becomes stronger than expected, I would then have to consider adding sleet or freezing rain to the forecast.
