Local 4Casters: Cool Wednesday night, rain Thursday

DETROIT – We're now on ANOTHER dry streak that has lasted longer than a week!

Our last measurable rainfall at Metro Airport was on Sept. 29. Rainfall is on the horizon, but not on Wednesday night. Clouds will continue to clear during the evening, leading to a cooler finish. Lows will be in the mid-to-upper 40s.

Thursday will start out dry and sunshine will help get us back into the lower 70s for afternoon highs. Then we'll start watching an approaching cold front for evening showers. Most of the rain should fall between 9 p.m. and midnight.

Even though the cold front will move through before sunrise Friday, morning lows will be milder with mostly cloudy skies. Expect temperatures in the mid 50s to start the day. Clouds will hang around for the morning, but dry air will clear the skies by late in the afternoon. Highs Friday will be in the mid 60s.

The weekend will be dry with plenty of sunshine. The coolest temperatures in our forecast are coming Saturday. Noticeably warmer numbers are on tap for Sunday.

Our next chance for rain doesn't return until next Thursday.
