Increasing clouds Saturday, going from cold to chilly

Highs in the low 50s

DETROIT – The last full weekend of April will feel like October with cooler than average conditions. Detroit's average high temperature is in the low 60s, but Saturday's and Sunday's afternoon readings will be in the low and middle 50s, at best. Motown becomes slightly milder next week.

Saturday morning will be cold with some clouds overhead. Temperatures will be in the low and middle 30s for early risers. Families going to the 7am Shades Of Pink Foundation Walk at the Detroit Zoo will need to stay warm with some winter-like outerwear.

Skies will become mostly cloudy Saturday afternoon with chilly conditions. Highs will be barely above 50 degrees. Tigers fans will must pack on some layers underneath their favorite Tigers jacket or sweatshirt. A hat, scarf and gloves would be good to wear, too, as the Detroit plays Cleveland starting just after 1pm at Comerica Park downtown.  Same for devotees of The Blue Man Group performing at the Fisher Theatre in Detroit's New Center.

Saturday evening will be overcast with temperatures in the 40s. Comedy fans checking out Dave Chappelle at The Fillmore or Steve Martin at Fox Theatre will need to dress warmly going to and from their shows.

Temps will be above freezing before midnight, Saturday night. This is key because clouds will produce some precipitation. The evening will be dry, but light rain is possible after the 8:26pm EDT sunset and before midnight.  The best chance of rain is south of I-94.

It will be mostly cloudy overnight with lows near 35°F in Detroit and in the low 30s in the suburbs.

Sunday will be sunnier with higher daytime temps. Skies will be mostly sunny with highs in the middle 50s. Sunday night will be chilly with lows in the middle and upper 30s. Monday and much of next week will be slightly milder with more sunshine. Skies will be bright and blue Monday through Wednesday. Highs will be near 60°F, and lows will be in the upper 30s and low 40s.
