Get ready to sweat on Tuesday

Another Air Quality Alert day

We have another Air Quality Alert and Ozone Action Day in Metro Detroit today as highs hit 90 degrees and the humidity creeps up just a little bit.

So the heat index will reach into the low 90s.

Ozone is created from a chemical reaction between the sun, heat, and pollution near the surface.

It can be dangerous breathing ozone if you have asthma or a heart conditions.

Because it's been such a mild summer, don't let the heat sneak up on you. Just take it easy and do your part to avoid adding extra pollutants today.

That means limit or put off your driving and using gas powered lawn equipment.

A cold front will be pushing through SE Michigan later tonight and early Wednesday.

Temps cool down and the front also brings a few scattered showers and storms late tonight and into the morning hours, but this will not be a big widespread soaking.

Check with Chuck later tonight.

We'll keep you posted as the cold front gets closer and closer.

Expect a few scattered showers tomorrow morning as most of the day will be dry with more comfortable temps in the 70s.

Dry and very comfortable weather settles in for Thursday and Friday with highs struggling to hit 80 degrees. Get your complete 7 Day forecast on clickondetroit.com and on the Weather links:
