Forecast: Some rain, thunder Tuesday in metro Detroit

DETROIT – So the weekend is behind us (thankfully).

There is still a flood warning for the River Raisin from Monroe to Blissfield. The river has crested in Blissfield, but the river will continue rising at Monroe and Dundee.

Monroe and Lenawee Counties are under flood warnings until 11:35 p.m. Wednesday.

We're heading toward the holiday. Even though there were a few showers and a rumble of thunder around today, it looks like we'll be mainly dry going into the Independence Day weekend.

Tonight we'll have another seasonably comfortable night with low humidity. Any leftover shower from the afternoon will fade quickly this evening. Low temperatures will be in the low 60s by sunrise.

Tuesday forecast:

Tuesday we may have to dodge a few raindrops. Expect to see a few more thunderstorms than we had today. And some of those storms could bring a heavy downpour. But severe weather is not expected. Highs tomorrow will be slightly higher in the mid-to-upper 70s.

Rest of week forecast:

The remainder of the week looks mostly dry as temperatures inch their way toward 80 by the weekend. In fact Tuesday looks like our highest rain chances of the forecast, and even then not everyone will get wet. An early look at the holiday weekend is almost all positive. Seasonably warm and mostly dry.

Check out the numbers in the extended forecast.
