Forecast: Nice Wednesday afternoon ahead in metro Detroit

Clouds move out, sun takes over, but temps still cool

DETROIT – Ah, the clouds are gone and the sun will at least bring spirits up a bit.

Highs will hit the mid 50s today with sunshine and lighter winds. As soon as those winds relax early this afternoon, it will be a pretty darn nice afternoon. Average highs for late April are in the low 60s and we won't quite make it Wednesday.

Thursday forecast:

Thursday too will be slightly below average as we only see in the upper 50s to near 60 degrees. Tomorrow will have a steady push of overcast skies with lighter winds. Rain will be approaching from the west all day, but dry winds ESE 5-12 mph will fight off the rain until overnight and into early Friday.

Friday forecast:

A line of rain and possibly thundershowers will move through early on Friday which could impact the morning drive to end the work and school week. Friday highs will attempt to climb into the mid and upper 60s after the rain showers but it will be short lived. Winds will start cranking hard through the afternoon SW 15-25 mph, and the second half of the day brings a mix of sun and clouds.

A Friday cold front sets the stage for another cool period heading into the weekend and beyond. You can expect mid 50s both Saturday and Sunday making for some great yard work weather. Get your entire 7Day forecast on clickondetroit.com and on the
