Cool start with nice weekend on tap

Father's Day weekend looks great

DETROIT – Temperatures are cooling this morning as a cool front scoots through SE Michigan.

Satellite shows some clearing to start the day, but breezy conditions are picking up with winds throughout the day WNW 10-20 mph with stronger gusts.

That cooler breeze will produce more cloud cover as we head into the afternoon, but most of us are dry most of the day.

With the cooler winds and increasing clouds, highs will hover in the upper 60s to low 70s today.

Our computer model shows a quick, light shower moving through the Thumb and perhaps across the M 59 corridor by mid to late afternoon.

If that happens, we don't expect much more than a light shower in our northern counties later today.

A clearing pattern will bring mostly sunny skies Saturday and comfortable highs in the mid 70s.

And, nice weather is setting up for Father's Day.

Highs will climb back closer to 80-85° on Dad's Day.

We will see rain on radar late Sunday but it will still be west of Metro Detroit. Monday and Tuesday look like better chances for wet weather.
