Chilly with scattered rain Saturday afternoon
Scattered rain remains a possibility Saturday afternoon in the Detroit area and in East Lansing for the big Michigan vs. Michigan State football game. Wolverines and Spartans fans will need their maize and blue or green and white ponchos with extra layering to stay warm and dry while tailgating and watching the game. Highs will be in the upper 40s with a northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
Soggy conditions linger into Saturday evening as temps fall through the middle and low 40s.

After midnight, it becomes drier but colder by Sunday morning. Skies will be mostly cloudy as the mercury falls to the freezing mark.
Sunday will be colder with morning lows in the low 30s and afternoon highs in the low 40s.
Blue skies continue to reign Monday, but it remains chilly. Morning lows will be in the low 30s for students going back to school and workers returning to the office. Afternoon highs will be near 50 degrees.
Election Day, Tuesday will be mostly drier and not as cold for voters. Mother Nature is helping all registered voters to get out and do their duty. Skies will be mostly to partly sunny with temps near 40 degrees by daybreak and near 55 degrees in the afternoon.
