Chance for showers Wednesday afternoon in metro Detroit

Warm front brings chance for scattered showers, but nothing severe

DETROIT – A warm front is moving up from northern Ohio and will start to warm us up this afternoon.

That front brings another chance for scattered showers this afternoon and evening but nothing long-lasting or severe. High temps today are struggling early with clouds, trying to make it into the low and mid 60s. Winds will be east at 5 to 12 miles per hour.

Thursday will be a bit warmer with highs hitting 75 to near 80 degrees. We may see some rain and thunder early in the morning before skies clear making tomorrow a much warmer day. Mostly sunny skies during the mid morning and early afternoon and then partly sunny by later afternoon with winds from the south at 7-12 miles per hour and gusting near 20 miles per hour at times.

Friday forecast:

A cold front Friday will bring rain and thunder starting in the early afternoon around Metro Detroit. Highs should still hit the low 70s. This will be our best chance for more widespread rain and thunder over the area for the rest of the work and school week. Conditions turn a bit breezy Friday and Saturday as well.

Saturday forecast:

Saturday may start with a few showers but will be mostly dry, breezy, and nice.

Mother's Day looks great now. But, some computer model data is introducing a few showers by dinner time.

We will keep a close eye on the forecast but there is a lot of Spring in the air!
