Next batch of snow bearing down on southeast Michigan

An expanding line of snow has crossed Lake Michigan and is headed our way.

The timing is such that this should arrive during the afternoon rush hour.  At this point, it appears that we'll see an inch or two from this snow band (with the best chance to see two inches being the further south you are in the metro area).

However, this amount of snow falling in only two or three hours means that the snow will be coming down pretty hard at times, which will grease up the roads.

Once this snow moves out, we'll finally get a break tomorrow with some sunshine...a real nice day as highs reach the upper 20s.

Then, just when you thought it was safe to come out of the house, another storm system -- the most robust of the series of Alberta Clipper storms that have affected us almost daily since late last week -- will impact us late Thursday or Thursday night.  We could potentially see two to four inches of snow from this system...and perhaps even a bit more if everything really comes together.

After this storm, though, we get into some mighty fine winter weather for the first two days ofMotown Winter Blast...absolutely perfect weather to come downtown and have some fun!
