Light snowfall moves through southeastern Michigan

DETROIT -

Several southeastern Michigan counties have been issued special weather statements as a band of snow is expected to move through the region Tuesday night.

Oakland, Lapeer, Genesee, Macomb and St. Clair counties are all expected to receive light snowfall, as much as a few tenths of an inch.

The narrow band of snow showers is moving northeast at 10 miles per hour.

Clouds are expected to increase Wednesday over Metro Detroit. As temperatures drop by Thursday, some areas could see 1/2 inch of snow. However, many areas might see only rain.

On Thursday, the forecast calls for the rain to change to snow. Lows are expected to be in the upper 20s. Friday morning's commute on southeastern Michigan roadways could be hampered by the wintry weather.
