The last morning of 2012 will be cold for Detroiters.

Monday afternoon will be chilly with mostly cloudy skies and highs just above freezing.

Motown will ring in the new year with mostly calm conditions Monday nights.  Outerwear is key for the Big Drop in Campus Martius as temps will be in the 20s.  Lows will be near 20 by Tuesday morning.

With sub-freezing conditions, partygoers must stay alert for a few slick spots on ramps, bridges, overpasses and any icy spots left untreated.

Happy New Year!

The first day of 2013, Tuesday, will be partly sunny and chilly, again, with highs in the low 30s.

The lucky Wolverine fans in Tampa, Florida cheering for Michigan against South Carolina in the Outback Bowl will have mostly sunny skies, daytime temps in the 70s and nighttime lows in the 50s.

Back in Michigan, colder air is on the way for Wednesday and the rest of the week.  Hump Day will be cloudier with a chance of nighttime snow showers and highs in the low 30s.  Thursday and Friday will be more frigid with morning lows in the teens and single digits by Friday and afternoon highs barely above 20 degrees.
