#voteyo: 4 reasons to vote for Yoenis Cespedes

Tigers outfielder would be Detroit's fifth all-star

We did it! Thanks to your diligent ballot stuffing, Miguel Cabrera was elected as a starter for the American League All-Star team. But Miggy is on the disabled list and won't be able to play. That leaves J.D. Martinez, David Price, and Jose Igelias as Detroit's only active players in the All-Star Game.

Fortunately, another Tiger has an opportunity to lift our city's weary spirits in the midsummer classic. Yoenis Cespedes is among five players in the running for the last spot on the AL roster.

You can vote here and then maybe throw a vote in the NL race to Cincinnati's Johnny Cueto.

If you're unsure why Cespedes deserves your vote, here are 4 reasons to #voteyo.

1. Cespedes is straight-up mashing for the Tigers with 11 home runs, 23 doubles, 45 RBIs, and hitting .294/.322/.488.

2. Cespedes. Say his name. CES-peh-des. It just sounds cool.

3. To follow Cespedes to the United States, his family literally had to escape Cuba on a raft. At one point in their journey, they trapped and cooked an iguana just to survive. Seriously, an iguana.

4. Cespedes is the reigning back-to-back home run derby champion. Your votes could inspire him to threepeat.

Don't waste any time. Vote early, vote often, #voteyo.
