DETROIT – As the Detroit Tigers continue their tailspin from atop the American League's Central Division, the team's rookie manager gave a questionable answer during Wednesday's post-game press conference.
The Tigers had just lost to the Kansas City Royals for a third time in a row in a 2-1 afternoon game.
A writer asked Ausmus, "How are you when you go home?"
His answer: "I beat my wife."
As laughs were heard in the media room, Ausmus made sure everyone knew he was joking. He also later apologized for his comment.
