Ford Field to implement new security policy for Lions preseason opener

Lions fans will see extra police officers during the team's first preseason game Friday night. Security will also be increased inside the stadium gates as well.

DETROIT -

Lions fans will see extra police officers during the team's first preseason game Friday night. Security will also be increased inside the stadium gates as well.

The NFL has implemented a new bag policy for the 2013-2014 season.

Bags permitted will be limited to clear plastic bags no bigger than a square foot or small clutch bags the size of your hand.

The Lions kickoff their preseason matchups against the New York Jets Friday at Ford Field. Kick off is at 7:30 p.m. The game is sold out.
