Plymouth Whalers blanked 2-0 in Game 1 with Kitchener Rangers

PLYMOUTH, Mich. -

The Plymouth Whalers couldn't get one past Kitchener Rangers goalie John Gibson Friday night at Compuware Arena.

Gibson stopped all 40 shots from the Whalers on route to a 2-0 win for the Rangers in Game 1 of the OHL Western Conference semifinal series.

The Whalers outshot the Rangers 40-30.

Game 2 is Sunday in Kitchener.

The Whalers fell behind 2-0 in their opening round series with the Guelph Storm before winning four-straight to take the series in six games.
