Former Detroit Tigers closer Jose Valverde, who agreed to terms on a minor-league contract with the team earlier this month, was spotted Tuesday night in downtown Detroit.

The Tigers are back in town after a western road trip. They were set to face the Kansas City Royals Tuesday night at Comerica Park but the game was postponed due to rain.

Local 4 Sports Producer Jeremy Allen saw Valverde entering a hotel downtown. Does this mean he'll be pitching for the Tigers soon?
