Does it matter that Detroit Tigers pitcher Al Alburquerque kissed the ball Sunday before making the final throw that would lead his team to a 5-4 victory over the Oakland Athletics?

Alburquerque went into the game to replace Phil Coke at the top of the ninth with two outs and the score tied at 4-4.

Yoenis Cespedes was up to bat and hit a grounder that went back to the mound and was gloved by Alburquerque.

Before he threw it to Prince Fielder at first base for the out, he kissed it.

The Tigers’ win put them at a 2-0 lead in the American League Division Series against the A’s.

The Tigers beat them 3-1 Saturday night.
