DETROIT -

Torii Hunter has signed a two-year, $26-million deal with the Detroit Tigers.

The deal is pending a physical.

If everything goes as planned this will mark the biggest free-agent signing so far in this off-season. Hunter will be replacing Delmon Young in the starting lineup.

Hunter, 37, has spent the past five years with the Los Angeles Angels.

He was also in talks with the Texas Rangers and the Atlanta Braves before choosing to sign with the Tigers.
