Give thanks this holiday by adopting a homeless animal
Almost Home NO Kill Animal Shelter, a non-profit animal rescue sheltering more than 80 dogs and cats in its Southfield facility is celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday with a food drive and adoption party.
The event will be held at Premier Pet Supply at 31215 Southfield Road in Beverly Hills, on Wednesday, November 14 from 5:00 to 8:30pm.
The food drive and adoption event will showcase a number of dogs, cats, puppies and kittens who are waiting for "forever homes." The shelter is requesting that if people are unable to adopt, that they consider fostering an animal so it can spend the holidays in a home environment.
Almost Home is also asking for "Thanksgiving dinner" - an unopened bag of Diamond Naturals Chicken & Rice dog or cat food. Premier Pet Supply sells the food that can be donated by visitors to the event.
Almost Home was founded by Gail Montgomery and her daughter Lauren Montgomery Anchill, who began rescuing animals in 2001. They later began leasing the Southfield Animal Control facility and turned it into a 100% no-kill shelter.
“It breaks our hearts that they can't be in a warm cozy home enjoying all the wonders of the holidays. Every life is precious and every life should be able to enjoy all that life has to offer. I'm hoping that this holiday season our animals can celebrate with a good chance to go to their forever home. We are confident that people will join hands with us in our efforts to find loving, forever homes for all our orphan furbabies,” Montgomery said.
The shelter depends entirely on donations.
Make it a family event and meet the adoptable animals of Almost Home, this Thanksgiving.
