Woman wounded in Detroit drive-by shooting

A woman sitting in a car was wounded Sunday in a drive-by shooting on Lyndon Avenue on Detroit's west side.


A Detroit woman was shot and wounded Sunday evening as she sat in a car near a recreation center on the city's west side.

The woman was in a parked car on Lyndon Avenue near Meyers Road, near the Butzel Recreation Center, when she was hit by gunshots fired from a passing car.

The victim, described as a woman in her twenties, was hospitalized and reported to be in temporary serious condition.

Police were searching for a blue Pontiac in connection with the shooting.
