Where is Oakland University?

Oakland University is headquartered in the Detroit suburb of Auburn Hills, and its campus extends into neighboring Rochester Hills.
Even so, the school has always used a mailing address for a third Detroit suburb 5 miles to the east -- the city of Rochester.
Auburn Hills City Councilwoman Anne Doyle said it's about time that the university fesses up and gives its real location.
Neither Auburn Hills nor Rochester Hills existed when Oakland University opened its doors in 1959, and school spokesman Theodore Montgomery says Oakland was grateful to the welcome that nearby Rochester offered its first entering class.
He says Oakland has a "great relationship with Auburn Hills."
