Water discolored in Livonia due to pressure problem

LIVONIA, Mich. – Residents in Livonia are being asked to take precaution after a water pressure problem has left water discolored.

The discoloration is the result of damage to a fire hydrant at Lyndon Street and Inkster Road. The issue has been resolved but the repairs may mean temporary discoloration to water in Livonia.

It is not necessary to boil the water. However, the discoloration may be resolved by waiting an hour and running the cold water tap in the lowest point in the house for a few minutes.

Hot water should not be used until cold water is clear.
