WESTLAND, Mich. – Thieves smashed into the Walgreens located at Warren and Middlebelt roads in Westland around 3 a.m. Friday and stole the ATM.
Police tell Local 4 the suspects are three men who used a white minivan to smash through the front doors. After stealing the ATM, they then got into a second vehicle and dumped the minivan.
Detectives from the Westland Police Department are gathering evidence and are looking at surveillance video.
This Walgreens is not a 24-hour location, it closes at 10 p.m., so no customers or employees were in the store at the time of the smash and grab.
Police believe that this theft could be connected to another ATM theft that happened in Taylor. The manger of this Walgreens store is also the manager of the Walgreens in Taylor that was also robbed a similar way.
