DEARBORN, Mich. -

It’s one of those stories that makes you ask yourself, who would do such a thing?

Police in Dearborn are sending out an alert tonight after items were stolen from worshippers praying at a mosque located on Vernor.

Police say the suspect entered the mosque during prayer service and removed personal items from a storage shelf. The two latest incidents occurred on Oct.17 and Oct. 24.

"This type of crime in a house of worship will not be tolerated," said Dearborn Chief of Police Ronald Haddad.

The suspect is described as a white man, approximately 5-foot-10 with a thin build, mustache and possibly a goatee.

The man has short hair and is balding.

Police say the suspect is known to walk around the area of Dix and Vernor.

If you have any information on this crime contact Dearborn Police.
