Special Troy mayoral election is Tuesday

TROY, Mich., -

Voters in Troy head to the polls Tuesday to elect a new mayor.

Back in November voters recalled Mayor Janice Daniels. Dean Slater was then appointed temporary mayor.

Slater is fighting to keep his seat.

Five other candidates are in the race:

-Faris Alami
-John Desjardins
-David Elsas
-Marty Knollenberg
-Scott Welborn

Tuesday's special election will cost the city approximately $50,000.
