Sentencing Friday for substitute teacher accused of sexually assaulting teen

Alleged assault happened during school hours at Farmington Hills school

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – Sentencing will take place Friday morning for a 58-year-old substitute teacher from Farmington Hills accused of sexually assaulting a student under 13 years old.

Andrew Howell was charged with second-degree criminal sexual conduct for an incident involving a student during school hours at a Farmington Hills school. The alleged incident happened on March 19.

A plea agreement was made, in which count one was dismissed. Howell pleaded no contest to a new count of assault with intent to do great bodily harm.

Howell will be sentenced Friday morning at 8:30 a.m.

Howell worked as a substitute teacher for 25 years.
