ROYAL OAK, Mich. -

Royal Oak police are on the scene of a barricaded situation in a home near I-75 and 11 Mile Road.

The situation is on Sprague Avenue.

Police have not said whether the man is armed, but have asked residents in the area to stay inside.

The Royal Oak School District has also advised -- based on police -- that students not go through that area when school is let out. There are not any schools located in the area, but police are recommending the students don't go home if they live nearby.

Local 4 has learned that the person police are focusing on inside the house is being investigated in connection with a homicide in Franklin on Charles Lane.
