LYON TOWNSHIP, Mich. -

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office has released a picture of a man who stole cigarettes and hundreds of dollars in cash from a gas station in Lyon Township.

The man walked into the gas station in the 60000 block of Grand River Avenue on Dec. 21 and asked to buy a carton of cigarettes.

When the clerk informed him the station didn’t sell cigarettes by the carton, the man pointed a small knife at the clerk and demanded cigarettes and everything in the cash register.

The clerk complied and wasn’t harmed.

The robber got away with two packs of cigarettes and $448 in cash.

The robber is described as white, in his 30s, 6 feet tall with a medium build. He was wearing black shoes, camouflage pants, black jacket and black gloves.
