Royal Oak RadioShack employees, customer duct-taped during armed robbery

Police in metro Detroit are investigating another armed robbery at a RadioShack, this time in Royal Oak.
On Wednesday, armed robbers duct-taped employees and a customer in a back room at the store in the 29000 block of Woodward Avenue, similar to what happened to an employee and customer May 19 during an armed robbery at a RadioShack in Sterling Heights.
In both cases, the robbers grabbed cash and cellphones before fleeing the store. The employees and customers were not injured.
Police are not saying these robberies are connected in any away, but in both cases the robbers were described as three black men armed with at least one handgun and duct tape.
They were wearing baseball caps, hoodies and nylons over their faces at the Royal Oak store. They put duct tape over the employees' and customer's eyes and taped their hands behind their backs. An employee called 911 about 6:30 p.m.
They got away with about 50 cellphones and an undisclosed amount of cash.
An assisting Troy police K-9 officer tracked the robbers to the area of Benjamin and Woodward avenues. That's where police believe they got in a vehicle and fled the area.
Anyone with information on the Royal Oak robbery is asked to contact Royal Oak police at 248-246-3456.
Another RadioShack was robbed Monday at 200 West 12 Mile Road in Madison Heights and back on April 30 a RadioShack was robbed in Roseville.
