Reward offered to find hit-and-run driver who struck Orion Township mother

Victim in stable condition after being hit on Heights Road near Fairledge

ORION TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A $1,000 reward is being offered to find the driver who hit an Orion Township mother Thursday morning as she walked back from dropping her daughter off at a bus stop.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office said the 35-year-old mother was walking eastbound on Heights Road near Fairledge just after 8 a.m. when she was hit from behind, possibly by a 2000 Ford Focus.

Deputies said the driver didn't stop, but a neighbor helped walk the victim back to her home and call for help.

The mother fell and hit her head on the ground, but is in stable condition.

Deputies said the car that hit the mother would have damage to its front corner turn sign signal light. Its mirror may also be damaged or missing.
