Michigan DE Frank Clark arrested for domestic violence

Clark could face up to 6 months in prison

ERIE COUNTY, Ohio – This has been a long season for the Michigan football team. The Wolverines are 5-5 and head coach Brady Hoke is under fire as the school searches for a new athletic director.

But Sunday morning, the season got even worse.

Star defensive end Frank Clark was arrested on a domestic violence allegation in Erie County, Ohio. If he is found guilty, the Michigan senior could possibly face up to six months in prison, per Ohio law.

Clark has been a leader for a strong Michigan defense this season, picking up 4.5 sacks and 42 tackles, 13.5 of those for loss. He is coming off two games against Indiana and Northwestern that saw him put immense pressure on opposing quarterbacks, including a game-winning rush of the Wildcats' Trevor Siemian that forced him to slip on a two-point conversion attempt.

Despite pleading guilty to a felony second-degree home invasion charge in the summer of 2012 for stealing a laptop in his campus dormitory, Clark has been praised for being a leader at Michigan as a senior.

Michigan has not yet released a statement on the incident.
