The tweet included a photo of him giving a thumbs up from the passenger seat of a car.

Dingell has been in the hospital since Dec. 12 after he fractured his hip. Fractured or not, Dingell showed up on the House floor to cast his final vote as a member of Congress.

A few days after being hospitalized, his wife Debbie Dingell, who will be replacing him in Congress next year, said he was resting comfortably in the hospital and was in much better shape than when he was admitted.

Dingell's injury prevented him from attending the dedication of the new train station which bares his name in Dearborn. Debbie attended in his place.
