DETROIT -

The American Red Cross is challenging Detroit Tigers fans to donate more blood than Oakland Athletics fans.

The Red Cross of Detroit and Oakland have teamed up to start a postseason challenge for a good cause. So far, Oakland has donated 522 pints and Detroit is at 459 pints. Thursday will be the last chance for Detroit to come back and win.

Everyone who comes to donate blood on Thursday, October 10 will be entered to win either a signed baseball by Joaquin Benoit, or a baseball signed by the entire team.

To find a donation center near you, or for more information, go to redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-REDCROSS.
