Anyone with court proceedings in Pontiac will have to reschedule.
The 50th District Court in Pontiac is closed Thursday due to a power outage.

The court initially planned to only be closed until noon, but had to extend the closure to the entire day because of the power outage.  It is unknown what caused the outage or if it is weather related.

The court is located at 70 North Saginaw Street in Pontiac.

It has jurisdiction of city ordinance violations and state law misdemeanors, it also holds preliminary examinations of felony cases.  The courthouse also has jurisdiction of civil cases on amounts claimed up to $25,000 and small claims cases among other proceedings.

Anyone who was scheduled to appear in 50th District Court Thursday will be rescheduled by the court.
