Portion of U.S. 23 to be dedicated to honor Officer Patrick O'Rourke

Officer Patrick O'Rourke was killed in the line of duty one year ago, leaving behind a loving wife and children, and a mournful community.

TYRONE TWP., Mich. -

On Friday a portion of the old U.S. 23 highway in Tyrone Township will be designated to honor fallen West Bloomfield Township Police Officer Patrick O'Rourke. Officer O'Rourke was killed in the line of duty September 9, 2012 while investigating a "shots fired" complaint on Forest Edge in West Bloomfield Township.

O'Rourke was a twelve year veteran of the West Bloomfield Township Police Department.

He is survived by his wife and four children.
