Port Huron woman charged in murder-for-hire plot

Police say Christina Faye Platt tried to hire undercover detective to kill ex-boyfriend

DETROIT – A Port Huron woman has been charged with trying to hire someone to kill her ex-boyfriend.

Port Huron police said 29-year-old Christina Faye Platt met twice with an undercover detective who posed as a hit man. During their meetings, police said Platt offered $2,000, with the title of her car as partial payment, to the undercover detective.

She was subsequently arrested and confessed to the murder-for-hire plot, police said.

She has been charged with homicide – solicitation of murder.

Her bond was set at $500,000 cash or surety. A preliminary exam hearing is scheduled for Aug. 19.
