Police in Melvindale have released images of a woman who robbed a credit union Wednesday afternoon.
The woman, who is believed to be in her 30s, was bundled up with a scarf and hat with very little of her face showing as she walked into the Co-op Services Credit Union on Oakwood Boulevard.
She demanded money from a teller before fleeing the credit union.
Police are asking for help identifying the woman in photos. They say she is wanted in robberies at banks and credit unions in a 1/2 dozen other cities -- Taylor, Dearborn Heights, Melvindale, Lincoln Park, Westland and Livonia -- over the past several months.
Though she simply passes tellers a holdup note, police are assuming she is dangerous.
"She claims to be carrying a weapon in the note or verbally when she's speaking with a teller, so I would go on the assumption that she is carrying a weapon and is dangerous," said Melvindale Police Chief Chad Hayse.
Anyone with information on this robbery suspect is asked to contact Melvindale police.
