Police say man in red truck is stealing tools

A man is wanted for stealing tools from construction sites in Shelby Township and Oakland County.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich. -

Police in Shelby Township and sheriff’s investigators in Oakland County are on the lookout for the driver of a red pick up truck that has been stealing from construction sites.

In Shelby Township, police say the man has struck several times, backing the red truck up into job sites at night, hooking up tool trailers and driving off.

Oakland County Sheriff’s investigators said there are similar theft reports in Independence Township.

Police have released pictures of the thief, who is driving a 1999 red GMC Sierra pickup extended cab “sportside” model.
