Obama orders Reuben sandwich at Zingerman's Deli

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – President Barack Obama is getting a taste of Ann Arbor, ordering a Reuben sandwich at the campus town's famed Zingerman's Deli.

Obama arrived in Michigan on Wednesday for a visit to the University of Michigan to discuss his proposal to raise the federal minimum wage.

After landing at Willow Run Airport, his motorcade headed west, making a stop at Zingerman's.

With his suit coat off, Obama entered the deli with U.S. Rep. Gary Peters, and the two asked for Reubens. The sandwich combines corned beef, sauerkraut and Swiss cheese on rye bread. Later during his speech on campus, Obama called the sandwich "killer."

The Democratic congressman from Bloomfield Township told the Zingerman's staff, "the president's buying."

Obama has endorsed legislation to gradually raise the national minimum wage from $7.25 an hour to $10.10 by 2016.
